KBIS + My Own Bathroom Renovation

Nasoni Fountain

If you’ve been following me on social media the past few weeks, you know I have been on the road! Earlier in the month I attended the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show in Orlando, which is one of my favorite industry events. I always come back inspired and with fresh ideas for my clients. The best part about attending this year, though, was that I am my own client right now! That’s right – I am embarking on my own bathroom renovation this spring.

My husband and I built our home way back in 1992. We were (fairly) newlyweds with three children under the age of 10 at home. While I certainly had big dreams for our new build, we all know that budgets always prevail (or at least that’s what super responsible people like my husband say). Fast forward 25+ years, and we have been blessed to make some great upgrades to our home over the years, but we are finally ready to tackle our master bath! Okay, that’s not 100% truthful…we did make some upgrades to the master bath when we added-on over a decade ago, BUT now I am getting the opportunity to do exactly what I want to do!

The KBIS show gave me a lot of great ideas and inspiration, and I cannot wait until my bathroom project is underway (and complete)! I’m excited to share with you a few of the really neat things I discovered in Orlando and how I hope to incorporate them into my personal project.

SICIS glass tile

SICIS Tile

This beautiful glass tile is super versatile and can be used on walls, floors, vanity tops, and drawers. They also offer a mosaic glass tile with unusual thicknesses and designs that can transform a mundane wall into a beautiful focal point in any room.

Fountain Faucet

It seems like each night I have to run back to the kitchen to grab a glass of water to take my vitamins before bed. With this gorgeous faucet, I won’t have to remember to bring that glass of water to bed with me. It is also ideal for washing your face. An added bonus is that it helps to cut down on water waste! Practical AND environmental friendly!

Kohkler Bathroom Design

Kohler baths, vanities and faucets

It is no secret I love Kohler. If you’ve been following me for any length of time, you know I am notorious for spending hours in their booths and probably oversharing their innovative products on my social feeds. I will not apologize! The technology they offer is astounding, and will transform my bathroom in rural Arkansas into a true spa experience. Imagine that – a spa-worthy shower every. single. morning. You can set your water temperature and pressure to your exact liking by simply setting a computer device. Heavenly! Their vanity and mirrors offer hidden storage space, which keeps your design clean yet practical. Their design options are endless, which makes them that much more attractive to me as I start to design my own space.

Grab bars in shower

Grab bars for your shower

Long gone are the days of unattractive grab bars in your shower or bath. Now, there are Shower Barres (doesn’t that sound more elegant), that serve additionally as a shelf with a tray to hold your toiletries. While I certainly don’t anticipate needing a grab bar in my shower any time soon, I am thrilled to know that a more attractive option is available when that time comes. There is absolutely no reason even your shower can’t age gracefully!

Any renovation project can seem daunting, but it is so wonderful to daydream about the possibilities! I hope these new finds have inspired you and have you thinking about making your own updates. If I can be of assistance, I’d love to help you design the bathroom of your dreams!
